Delhi high court today pronounced much awaited judgement on fee hike. The court acknledged the commercilization of education and recomended a team of three persons one retired judge, one C.A. and one member can be educationists suggested by the chief secretary. The court explains the need of regulatory system which means the unified central regulation will be needed for the same. the judgement is verry balence in its findings and observations but our expectation was about some direction for the comitee or atleast some guidelines for comitee to decide the justification of fee hike by school but primarily it is lookng that the complete soverginity had been provided to the comitee which will be constituted by atleast one member educationist selected by the chilef secretary. there is no doubt that the member will be selected similer to the educationists in the department of educations who are so competent that they are generally taking descisions under direction of their clearical staffs and specially in the case of unaided public schools they becomes influenced verry soon. we belive untill the full proof independent regulator equipped with appropriate legislation is not framed the problem cannot be resolved but this step by cort in positive direction is highly appreciable. we salute Mr. Ashok Agarwal who is repetedely mentioned in judgement and at the same time we contrats him for this great victory specially in such a case when a constitution bench judgement of 11 judges was against our contention.
