Breaking: Obusha Pwned by His Corpora-terrorist Paymasters and GOP Overlords --Obama announces compromise on extending tax cuts 06 Dec 2010 President Obama proposed a compromise on the thorny political issue of tax cuts on Monday, describing a tentative agreement that would extend all of the George W. Bush-era reductions set to expire the end of this year and continue unemployment benefits for 13 months. In a televised statement, Obama announced what he called "a framework for a bipartisan agreement" that would temporarily extend the tax cuts for the middle class and for the rich alike. The tentative agreement reached Monday likely means that taxes will not increase on Jan. 1 as originally scheduled. [Join us! Primary Obusha in 2012 --LRP]

Lebanese Newspaper Publishes U.S. Cables Not Found on WikiLeaks 03 Dec 2010 Nearly 200 previously unreported U.S. diplomatic cables were posted on Thursday to the website of Lebanese newspaper Al Akhbar. The cables, from eight U.S. embassies across the Middle East and North Africa, have not appeared on Wikileaks' official website or in the Western media outlets working with Wikileaks... A series from Beirut in 2008 shows Lebanese Defense Minister Elias al-Murr telling U.S. diplomats, in a message he implied they should pass on to Israeli officials, that the Lebanese military would not resist an Israeli invasion so long as the Israeli forces abided by certain conditions. Murr, apparently hoping that an Israeli invasion would destroy much of the Hezbollah insurgency and the communities in Lebanon's south that support it, promised an Israeli invasion would go unchallenged as long as it did not pass certain physical boundaries and did not bomb Christian communities.

We are negotiating a meeting with police."

Eric Holder, who did not specify what these actions might be, also said his justice department was examining ways to stem the flow of leaked cables.

Assange to fight extradition moves 06 Dec 2010 The lawyer for WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange has vowed to fight moves to extradite his client from the UK to Sweden. Swedish authorities are seeking to question Mr Assange regarding sex allegations, which his lawyer Mark Stephens has denounced as a "political stunt". Mr Stephens said Mr Assange would "certainly" fight deportation on the grounds that it could lead to him being handed over to the US, where senior politicians have called for him to be executed.

McConnell: WikiLeaks Head a High-Tech Terrorist --Republican Senate Leader Urges Prosecution of WikiLeaks' Founder Julian Assange 05 Dec 2010 Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell is calling the founder of the online site WikiLeaks a "high-tech terrorist" for releasing classified material from the U.S. government. McConnell told NBC's "Meet the Press" that he hopes WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange will be prosecuted for the disclosures. Of Assange, McConnell says, "I think the man is a high-tech terrorist." [And McConnell's a low-tech sociopath.]

Raytheon forbids employees to access WikiLeaks website 03 Dec 2010 Military contractor Raytheon Space and Airborne Systems has informed employees in El Segundo that they are forbidden to access the controversial whistle-blower website WikiLeaks either on company or personal computers. Ah, then came the dawn. Assange Accuser Worked with US-Funded, CIA-Tied Anti-Castro Group By Kirk James Murphy, M.D. 04 Dec 2010 [As reported by Israel Shamir and Paul Bennett in Counterpunch in September], Julian Assange's chief accuser in Sweden has a significant history of work with anti-Castro groups, at least one of which is US funded and openly supported by a former CIA agent convicted in the mass murder of seventy three Cubans on an airliner he [Luis Posada Carilles] was involved in blowing up... Who is Julian Assange's chief accuser in Sweden? She's a gender equity officer at Uppsula University -- who chose to associate with a US funded group openly supported by a convicted terrorist and mass murderer.  She just happens to have her work published by a very well funded group connected with Union Liberal Cubana -- whose leader, Carlos Alberto Montaner, in turn just happened to pop up on right wing Colombian TV a few hours after the right-wing coup in Honduras.

WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange 'will release poison pill of damaging secrets if killed or arrested' --Damaging documents thought to include details on BP, Guantanamo Bay 06 Dec 2010 The founder of WikiLeaks has warned that his supporters are primed to publish a 'deluge' of leaked government documents should his activities be curtailed by any country. Julian Assange has distributed to fellow hackers an encrypted 'poison pill' of damaging secrets, thought to include details on BP and Guantanamo Bay. He believes the file is his 'insurance' in case he is killed, arrested or the whistleblowing website is removed permanently from the internet. [Why wait until you're 'killed or arrested?' Release them *now.*]

Since several major Internet companies cut off services to WikiLeaks in recent days, activists have created hundreds of mirror sites, Web sites that host exact copies of another site's content, making censorship difficult.

List of facilities 'vital to US security' leaked 05 Dec 2010 A long list of key facilities around the world that the US describes as vital to its national security has been released by Wikileaks. A February 2009 State Department cable asked embassies around the world to update a 2008 list of vital interests. Unlike most of the documents made available by WikiLeaks so far, it was marked "secret". [The vaccine production centre *is* the terror attack.]

Speaking on the ABC network's "Good Morning America" program on Monday, Petraeus said, "I think no commander ever is going to come out and say, 'I'm confident that we can do this.' But again, I don't think there are any sure things in this kind of endeavor," added Petraeus, who is also the commander of US-led forces. "And I wouldn't be honest with you and with the viewers if I didn't convey that." He said he was not confident that the Afghan government and security forces would be stable and competent enough to take over from the US-led foreign forces in 2014, as envisaged by Washington.

Deal Would Reportedly Drop a Tax Credit 06 Dec 2010 As the White House and Congressional Republicans near a deal on sweeping tax legislation, including an extension of the Bush-era tax rates for all income levels, President Obama (R-Closeted) has agreed to give up the "Making Work Pay" tax credit that was the central tax break for middle and low-income Americans in last year's economic stimulus bill. Mr. Obama had been pressing for a one-year extension of the Making Work Pay credit, which provided a tax break of up to $400 for individuals and $800 for couples. But Republicans opposed the idea. [And, needless to say, Obama surrendered.]
